Our New Name

The Japanese kanji for "rainbow," pronounced "niji."

Hello, all! Raijin here.

(In case you didn't know, I'm the owner and founder of Jen Blankets, now called Niji Blankets).

As you can see, Jen Blankets is no longer... well, "Jen Blankets."

Let me tell you a bit about why:

Since the beginning, my business has always been about love. Using my hand-crocheted items, I wanted to share a piece of my heart with everyone, and I wanted others to be able to use my products as a gift for themselves and others in their lives. As my business grew, I quickly discovered a very specific love of mine: one for my community, specifically the LGBTQIA+ community, of which I am a member on two counts (nonbinary and pansexual).

This name change and re-branding represents my decision shift the focus of my business: moving forward, I intend to produce mainly LGBTQIA-themed blankets and apparel.

Aptly, the new name I've chosen for my business is Niji Blankets. "Niji" (虹) is the Japanese word for "rainbow." This rainbow is intended to symbolize the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as rebirth and happiness.

I anxiously look forward to the honor and privilege of serving the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies with my creations. May my handiwork be for all others beautiful gifts of friendship, community, and love.

Sincerely,

Raijin Kō
Founder and Owner of Niji Blankets
